Job Description / Responsibilities:
Harness Design & Layout: Lead 2D/3D harness architecture development for UAV avionics, power, and ground systems, including schematics, routing optimization, and BOMs using tools like Capital Harness or E3.series to ensure form/fit/function compliance.
Simulation & Analysis: Conduct simulations for harness integrity (e.g., crosstalk, voltage drop, thermal derating, EMC); refine designs iteratively for standards like IPC-A-620 and MIL-STD-810.
Prototyping & Testing: Manage fabrication, assembly, and validation, including continuity/pull-force tests, environmental simulations, and integration; analyze data, fix issues, and enhance reliability.
Quality & Production Support: Partner with procurement/manufacturing for material selection, supplier audits, and production docs; perform inspections and scale from prototypes to low-volume production.
Integration & Collaboration: Integrate harnesses with hardware/software/mechanical teams, evaluate engineering changes, and resolve issues during flight/ground testing.
Innovation & Documentation: Advance harness tech (e.g., lightweight composites, smart wiring) for UAV efficiency; document designs, monitor trends, and report on indigenous projects.
