Flight Dynamics & Modelling Engineer

Education:

  • BS Graduated from Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or similar fields.

Language:

  • English, Urdu

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C++ for simulation and modelling, Experienced in Software-in-loop and hardware-in-the-loop simulation systems, Advanced level of MS Office knowledge.

Experience & Abilities:

  • Experience of 1-3 years in the relevant field
  • Strong knowledge of aerodynamics, rigid-body dynamics, flight mechanics, and aircraft stability & control.
  • Skilled in system dynamics and mathematical modelling
     

Job Description / Responsibilities:

  • Develop aerodynamic, propulsion, and rigid-body dynamics models for multirotor, fixed-wing, or hybrid UAVs.
  • Create and refine 6-DOF flight dynamic models, including nonlinear and linearized representations
  • Model actuator dynamics, motor/propeller effects, environmental disturbances (wind, turbulence), and sensor characteristics.
  • Support Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation setups.
  •  Build and utilize simulation environments (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, ROS, Gazebo) to validate algorithms and predict system performance.
  • Collaborate with hardware, avionics, GNC, and test engineers to ensure models accurately reflect real aircraft behaviour.
  • Investigate new modelling methods, aerodynamic estimation techniques, and simulation frameworks.
  • Create detailed technical documentation, including algorithm specifications, test plans, and performance reports.
  • Conduct functional tests of software and control algorithms and report analyses.
