CAD Engineer
Education:
- Bachelors or higher degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Language:
- English, Urdu
Computer Skills:
- GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), ASME Y14.5 or ISO equivalents 3D design experience, CATIA
Experience & Abilities:
- At least 1-3 years of relevant experience.
Job Description / Responsibilities:
• To design and model parts, assemblies, products or systems with defined outlines for newly developed products.
• To apply dimensioning and tolerance rules (GD&T) to the design while modelling.
• To perform preliminary control of completed modelling projects in digital environment, to check the compatibility of various parts between them and the final assembly with other assemblies and to make any necessary or desired changes.
• Developing alternative design according to basic data when necessary.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation including work orders, assembly instructions, and BOMs in coordination with production teams.
• Translating 3D designs into comprehensive 2D manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 or ISO standards.
• Incorporate DFM and DFA concepts into the design process to minimize production challenges, reduce assembly complexity, and improve overall product quality.
• Supervising the First Article Inspection (sample) production process, ensuring that the initial assembly of prototype parts and subassemblies (units or sets) are correctly produced, fitted, and verified according to design intent — and that the associated inspection and work control procedures are properly organized.
• Handles the end-to-end prototyping process using 3D printing, composites, and metal fabrication, including design validation and rapid iteration support.
