Experience & Abilities:
• Proven 4+ years working with multidisciplinary teams in UAV avionics, covering hardware design (analog/digital circuits, PCBs via Altium), embedded software (C/C++, Python, RTOS), and flight software development & validation.
• Familiarity with certification standards (DO-178C/254/160, ARP4754A, AS9100, MIL-STDs 461/464/704/810); HIL/unit/integration testing, FMEA, root-cause debugging, and flight campaigns.

Job Description / Responsibilities:
• Define and maintain modular, scalable avionics and GNC architectures, optimizing for power, compute, sensors, communications, redundancy, EMI/EMC, and SWaP-C; develop SRDs, ICDs, and ADPs.
• Conduct system-level trade studies on parameters like latency vs. redundancy, edge AI vs. ground processing, and analog vs. digital sensing.
• Lead technical syncs, design reviews, code walkthroughs, and simulation milestones; ensure consistency across hardware, software, GNC, estimation, and integration teams.
• Proactively address challenges, drive solutions, and communicate effectively with teams, leadership, partners, and stakeholders; build trust through delegation and mentorship.
• Uphold processes compliant with DO-178, DO-254, DO-160, and MIL-STD standards; implement configuration management, documentation, and design reviews.
• Establish best practices for design assurance, verification/validation, and flight readiness, lead audits, requirements reviews, and safety assessments.
• Oversee bench integration, HIL validation, ground/flight testing, and readiness pipelines from SIL to flight; perform root-cause analysis and post-flight tuning.
• Manage flight test planning, risk assessments, FMEA, safety analyses, and mission reliability; authorize readiness gates and milestones.
• Align avionics with vehicle constraints (weight, power, interfaces); facilitate coordination among flight software, GNC, UI, hardware, and harness teams.
• Organize cross-team reviews, integration planning, and issue-resolution meetings to ensure project cohesion.
• Monitor trends in edge AI NPUs, digital twins, and swarm autonomy; evaluate emerging tech and drive continuous improvements for indigenous development.
• Demonstrates ownership of outcomes by proactively anticipating challenges and driving solutions independently.
• Excels in clear, effective communication across all organizational levels, including technical teams, leadership, cross-functional partners, and external stakeholders.
